Allegra came from an old copyright-expired vintage pattern I happened upon, which uses an adapted version of the chevron technique I’ve since used quite often in other designs in differing forms for some of our Boho Baby range.
This zigzag stripe is a classic, used in designer clothing today. I completely love the distinctive designer look we achieve when combine alternating colour with this chevron technique. The pattern is easy to follow, too, though it does require some counting, particularly while increasing.
I’ve tested using a variety of yarns, with long sleeves and short, and we are currently working it up in different sizes before publishing the pattern.
