Eva is the first of a series of peplum cardigans I created for the summer, using the round yoke technique that I feel lends itself beautifully to these feminine shapes.

Here are some progress shots of one I’m working on right now, using Debbie Bliss Cotton DK Prints yarn for the summer in Lilac shades, and trying out some ideas for buttons too.

For my first samples I used a beautifully soft cotton silk blend from Ice yarns for the blue, and a cotton viscose mix, also from Ice yarns, for the others. Apart from the Debbie Bliss Cotton DK, they’re all 4-ply yarn which I find works great for summer wear.

I have created this garment so far in the following sizes:

  • Up to 3 months
  • 3-6 months
  • 6-9 months
  • 9-12 months
  • 18 months

I made notes as I went along, so at some point they’ll get written up and posted here.
