Lena Cardigan

Lena is a V-veck puffed-sleeve cardigan with a short peplum. I’d been looking for a pattern for some time for a V-neck cardigan using the round yoke technique. Having had no luck finding one so decided to create my own. This is my first attempt which I shall continue to develop. I think it works well so far, though I can can see room for improvement.

For this prototype I used Sirdar No 1, a nylon/polyamide mix, as I had a ready supply available in my stash. For the production version I’d prefer a cotton yarn or cotton blend with viscose or silk.

I also have a gender-neutral version, Lennox, to which I added long sleeves and, rather than the peplum, I used a contrast colour instead.

Both these garments need further testing.
