Bude: Modern Crochet Colour Block Cardigan

This is Bude, a playful, colour block cardigan using a fine yarn perfect for the summer months. It’s created in a gorgeous, soft, non-mercerised 4-ply cotton from MillaMia and worked top-down all in one piece.

It’s named after the gorgeous town where my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary a few years ago.  As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, we both love Cornwall and once again had a gorgeous time there.

Our time in Bude included a lovely afternoon shopping and stopping off at a gin bar, as I recall, before returning later for a really super dinner overlooking the beach. That’s the relaxed, happy vibe that inspired this creation.

This one has been created for a little one of about 18 months old with a 2.5mm hook. I made it again using a different yarn and a 3mm hook, and that one was about right for a 2-3 year old. As usual, I kept notes as I went along so when I have a quiet moment I’ll get them written up and uploaded here.

In the meantime, here are some photos. If you’d like to be notified when the pattern is posted, please subscribe to my blog below, or come and join me on Instagram. (And if you’d like me to push it up the priority list a bit, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do 🙂
